To alleviate local pandemic response pressures, China Construction Bank’s Tokyo Branch—while rigorously implementing its own epidemic prevention and control measures—proactively fulfilled its corporate social responsibility by donating 50,000 protective masks to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government via the Chinese Embassy in Japan on March 10.

At the donation ceremony, Ambassador Song Yaoming pointed out that China and Japan are friendly neighbors separated only by a narrow strip of water and are a community with a shared future that stands by each other in the face of the epidemic. Since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus pneumonia, the Japanese government, including Tokyo, and all sectors of society have extended a helping hand and supported China's fight against the epidemic in various ways. Xie Luyi, the president of the Tokyo Branch of China Construction Bank, told a reporter from People's Daily Online that whenever a major disaster occurs in Japan, the Tokyo Branch of China Construction Bank will fulfill its social responsibility and actively donate funds.
