China Construction Bank Launches Its First Dual-Currency Debit Card (in Japanese Yen and Chinese Yuan) in Japan

China Construction Bank Tokyo Branch (hereinafter referred to as "CCB Tokyo Branch") held a press conference on the Japanese yen and Chinese yuan dual currency debit card in Tokyo, Japan on June 29th. This card provides dual currency financial services in Japanese yen and Chinese yuan for cross-border customers.

Representatives from major financial institutions in China and Japan, including Song Yaoming, Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Chinese Embassy in Japan, Wang Jiaxun, President of the China Enterprise Association in Japan, Oka Fengshu, Director General of the Japan China Investment Promotion Agency, Ju Wenyong, General Representative of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade in Japan, Jie Luyi, General Manager of China Construction Bank Tokyo Branch, and Pan Dong, President of UnionPay International Japan Branch, attended the launch ceremony.

At the press conference, Song Yaoming instructed the Bank of China Tokyo Branch to take the launch of debit cards as an opportunity to provide more high-quality financial services to Chinese and local enterprises in Japan, and to become a bridge for economic and cultural exchanges between China and Japan. Oka Toyoki, Director of the Japan China Investment Promotion Agency, congratulated China Construction Bank on successfully issuing debit cards in Japan and hoped that both sides would strengthen new financial cooperation and contribute to promoting economic exchanges between Japan and China.

Jie Luyi introduced that the launch of debit card business has further improved the retail business system of the Tokyo branch. In the future, various financial products and services will be used as a medium to develop together with customers and prosper together with society. Pan Dong looks forward to UnionPay International and CCB Tokyo Branch working together to provide customers with better financial services.

It is reported that this is the first time that China Construction Bank has launched a debit card service in Japan. The card supports real-time account change SMS notifications, intelligent transaction settlement, and UnionPay flash payment functions.
