Tokyo, January 26 (People's Daily) - The "Dalian Japan Cooperation and Exchange" conference was held online on the 22nd. Representatives from the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Japan Representative Office, Dalian Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Japan International Trade Promotion Association, and Japan China Investment Promotion Agency attended the conference to discuss economic and trade development and future cooperation opportunities.
Dalian is geographically close to Japan and has a close relationship with people. It has a good geographical advantage and a solid foundation for cooperation with Japan, and is an important window for Northeast China to carry out economic and trade cooperation with Japan. "In the keynote speech, Ju Wenyong, the General Representative of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade in Japan, introduced Dalian's profound cooperation advantages in Japan. Ju Wenyong welcomes the Japanese business community to use Dalian as a window, seize the first mover advantage of Dalian's opening up to the outside world, fully utilize policy, resource, and industrial advantages, continue to expand investment in China, and share development opportunities. He also expressed that the representative office in Japan is willing to play a role as a bridge and link to promote deeper and broader economic and trade exchanges between the two sides. This meeting listened to the introduction by President Cui Tie of Dalian Council for the Promotion of International Trade on the current situation and prospects of Dalian's cooperation and exchanges with Japan, and received full recognition from the attending guests. Cui Tie emphasized that in accordance with the "Dalian 2049 Urban Vision Plan" formulated by the Dalian Municipal Party Committee and Government, we will comprehensively, fully, and deeply strengthen exchanges and cooperation with various sectors of Japan in the fields of economy, trade, technology, culture, education, etc., to provide a more favorable investment environment and development conditions for Japanese enterprises to establish themselves in Dalian and explore the Chinese market.

In his speech, Makoto Anda, Executive Director of the Japan Association for the Promotion of International Trade, pointed out that in the face of the severe and complex world situation and the impact of the COVID-19 on a large scale, China has become the only major economy in the world to achieve positive economic growth, which deserves heartfelt congratulations. Yasuda stated that Japan and China are each other's most important economic partners, and China is also Japan's largest trading partner. Building a stable economic relationship is crucial and in line with the long-term interests of both countries. At the same time, the two countries should resume personnel exchanges and maintain close communication on the basis of maximizing epidemic prevention and control and ensuring safety.
